The Borussia Dortmund women's handball team last played in front of their own fans at the end of March. Now, six weeks later, BSV Sachsen Zwickau will be the visitors this Saturday in the Sporthalle Wellinghofen (19:00 CEST). A win for Borussia Dortmund should see them consolidate second place in the league.

In their last home game, Borussia came away with a 23-20 victory over Bayer Leverkusen. Henk Groener's side have now won seven games in a row, with their last defeat coming at the hands of HSG Blomberg-Lippe (26-25) in mid-February. Since then, the Black & Yellows have amassed 14:0 points, which has put them in second place in the league.

The BVB women's handball team will be aiming to defend this position until the end of the season. "We want to win at least four of our last five games," says coach Groener, adding: "We definitely have to go one better against Zwickau."

His players will have to pay particular attention to Ema Hrvatin, who is not only the top scorer for the visitors from Saxony, with 150 goals, but also the number one in the entire league at the moment together with Toni Reinemann from Oldenburg. The Slovenian recently celebrated successfully qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris with her national team. In addition, BSV secured an important win against Halle-Neustadt (26-19) in the last matchday to avoid relegation.

As a reward, the team was given three days off by coach Norman Rentsch, former coach of the BVB women's handball team (2018). He deliberately opted for a particularly short preparation before the clash with his former club. His team, who are currently tenth in the table, only resumed training on Thursday.

Meanwhile, things are looking good for the Black & Yellows in terms of personnel: Emma Olsson, who twisted her ankle in Neckarsulm, has already been able to train again and can form the tried-and-tested duo on the circle with Lisa Antl, who has been in impressive form in recent weeks.

Tickets for the game are still available in the online ticket shop. The game will also be shown on Sportdeutschland.TV and Dyn Media. If you would like to get in the mood for the game, you can do so with our digital programme.
